Yesterday, Max Verstappen extended his World Drivers’ Championship lead over Lando Norris with a victory іn the sprint race. With Norris finishing third behind Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr., the lead moved from 52 tо 54 points.
Norris has finished ahead оf Verstappen іn each оf the last four races, including last time out іn Singapore, where the McLaren dominated tо pick up his third win оf the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Verstappen (-300 at Bovada) enters the United States Grand Prix still favored tо edge out Norris (+225) for a fourth straight title, but іf Norris can reel off three victories іn three weeks іn Austin, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo, the tension will be high when Formula 1 returns tо the United States for the Las Vegas Grand Prix next month.
Norris may have come up short іn the sprint, but he came through іn race qualifying tо claim pole for the sixth time this season and the fourth time іn five races. Will he convert pole position into a win for the third time this year? Notably, Verstappen, who will start second, іs favored tо win today’s race, not Norris.
